Lopez turned pro in 2016 and beat Richard Commey in 2019 for the IBF lightweight title. He was on top of the world when he beat Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2020 for the WBA, WBO, and The Ring belts. After losing the titles against George Kambosos Jr., he returned to glory, this time in a different division. “The Takeover” has won three in a row at super lightweight, beating former undisputed champion Josh Taylor in June for the WBO and Ring belts.
